The John V. Roach Honors College will be welcoming bestselling author and happiness expert Arthur C. Brooks to TCU as the featured speaker for the 2026 Fogelson Honors Forum.
He is set to take the stage on Oct. 13 in the Tucker Family Ballroom at the Brown-Lupton University Union.
Brooks is best known for his work exploring happiness, purpose and human flourishing. He has spent years studying how people can build happier, more meaningful lives and sharing those lessons with audiences around the world.
Brooks has authored several books, including The Meaning of Your Life, Build the Life You Want (co-authored with Oprah Winfrey) and From Strength to Strength.
Ron Pitcock, Wassenich Family Dean of the John V. Roach Honors College, said Brooks’ expertise on these topics makes him the perfect fit for the Fogelson Honors Forum and its broader audiences at TCU and in Fort Worth.
“We are thrilled to welcome Arthur Brooks to TCU for the Fogelson Honors Forum because his lessons on happiness and human flourishing originate from a genuine care for each person he meets, and this heart for others is exactly what we want students to encounter,” Pitcock said. “His visit is a gift not only to our Roach Honors students, but to our entire TCU family and Fort Worth neighbors, as he invites all of us into honest conversations about what it truly means to flourish together as a community.”
The annual Fogelson Honors Forum brings renowned speakers, eminent scholars and professional practitioners to TCU to engage students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the Fort Worth-Dallas community. Past speakers have included chef and humanitarian José Andrés, human rights attorney Amal Clooney and basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
The forum is made possible through a $1 million gift from the estates of E.E. “Buddy” Fogelson and his wife, actress Greer Garson. Fogelson, a successful oilman and rancher, attended TCU in 1919 and 1920. Throughout their lives, Fogelson and Garson generously supported social, educational and artistic causes, particularly in their home state of Texas.
