Skip Hollandsworth ’79 had literary ambitions from a young age, writes a behind-the-scenes story in Texas Monthly, and, by all accounts, he’s achieved them.
An infographic in the article about the AddRan College of Liberal Arts and John V. Roach Honors College alumnus chronicles “Skip by the Numbers”: Over 150 long-form stories written for Texas Monthly, five stories that have been adapted for film, and two books written.
“In 1989, when I was just getting started, (writer Jim) Atkinson told me that every writer at Texas Monthly needs to write a good true crime story. I took it to heart. I wrote 35 of them,” said Hollandsworth.
His latest work, She Kills: The Murderous Socialite, Cross-Dressing Bank Robber, and Other True Crime Tales, is a collection of eight of his stories.
