Inaugurated in Fall 2009, the John V. Roach Honors College offers students an educational experience of the finest quality, as well as unparalleled opportunities for intellectual and personal growth through our co-curricular programs. If you’d like a challenge and want to engage with new ideas and worldviews, while building your leadership skills for the future, come join us.
The College, which traces back to 1962 and the development of the Honors Program at TCU, provides an array of opportunities for scholarship and research, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary study. Honors students graduate with the major of their choice, while fine-tuning their knowledge of the world and honing skills for lifelong learning. Honors students receive priority registration, as well as assistance from highly skilled Honors advisors. Support for study abroad is also available through Brachman Study Abroad Scholarships, and the Director of Prestigious Scholarships assists students with applying for the nation’s most prestigious post-baccalaureate fellowships. Recently, our students have won multiple Fulbright awards and the Scoville Fellowship. They have also been finalists for the Marshall Scholarship.
Would you like to engage in truly meaningful conversations around today’s most pressing social issues? In small classes and in the beautiful Honors residence hall, Milton Daniel, Honors students are free to express opinions and develop their own insights into the challenges of today and tomorrow. Since Honors students select from a wide variety of classes and activities, the possibilities for dialogue are endless: students form pre-med study groups; meet with faculty in a Contemporary Reading Symposium; and interact with TCU’s Chancellor, Provost and Deans.
Would you like to be part of a diverse, multitalented and supportive community? Honors students come to TCU from all over the country and all around the world, bringing unique talents and interests. Besides pursuing the highest levels of academic excellence, students in the John V. Roach Honors College are athletes, leaders in student government, musicians, members of student and social organizations, and community volunteers.
We have personally seen the tremendous impact that Honors has on TCU students as they strive to fulfill their goals. We hope you’ll visit with Honors faculty and staff to learn more about the John V. Roach Honors College.
