Student Spends Summer Interning at European Parliament

July 1, 2015

HenryMakHonors student Henry Mak, an economics major, is interning in Europe this summer. Here is what Henry has to say about how the John V. Roach Honors College prepared him to succeed:

“This summer I am interning for a Member of the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium. My responsibilities include summarizing committee meetings and conferences, participating in various social events, and managing administrative office tasks. The JVR Honors College experience has prepared me for this international opportunity through their commitment to a liberal arts education with a global emphasis. Their coursework includes a diverse mix of topics that allows me to explore different interests and understand how they connect in today’s increasingly global society. Through the Honors College, I had the opportunity to travel abroad to experience different cultures first hand while applying what I learn in the classroom. Interning at the EU Parliament has been a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I am glad that TCU and the Honors College equipped me with the skills I needed to pursue my future.”
