TCU’s John V. Roach Honors College and College of Education’s Center for Public Education will welcome education advocate and former Assistant Secretary of Education Diane Ravitch at the Fogelson Honors Forum Oct. 15, 2015.
Both a historian and research professor currently at New York University, Dr. Ravitch has lectured all over the world, from Poland to Japan to Nicaragua to the U.S.’s own Library of Congress. She has also won an impressive and eclectic collection of honors and awards such as a Guggenheim Fellowship for Social Sciences, the American Education Award from the American Association of School Administrators, an Uncommon Book Award from Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, and the 2010 “Friend of Education” honor designated by the National Education Association. She has published numerous books, including Reign of Error: The Hoax of the Privatization Movement and the Danger to America’s Public Schools, which will be part of TCU’s discussion about education throughout the month of October.
