Chancellor Boschini with 3 graduating seniors of the John V. Roach Honors College

While graduating seniors in the John V. Roach Honors College prepared to receive honors laureate status and add their names to the distinguished roll of graduates, one surprise name was added to the list: Victor J. Boschini, Jr. Roach Honors Students collaborated with faculty and staff to surprise and honor the outgoing chancellor through a ceremony where students assumed the roles of TCU faculty and administrators guiding Boschini, who transitions to chancellor emeritus June 1.

Graduating senior Brian Hopp played the role of “hooding faculty member” and initially greeted Boschini. Hopp presented him with a framed honors stole, while junior Honors Cabinet President Victoria Johnston read a short bio highlighting the Boschini's work for TCU, including:

Heading the $1 billion Lead On campaign, an ambitious fundraising effort supporting both the people and programs of TCU, leading initiatives that culminated in more than 35 new building projects and renovations, and transformation of the John V. Roach Honors College, which now serves over 1,200 of the country's best and brightest students annually.

After being hooded, Boschini walked to the center of the stage, where Roach Honors Cabinet officer and graduating senior Vinisha Inaganti played the role of “chancellor.” Inaganti presented Boschini with his laureate certificate.

At the final stage of the ceremony, Boschini greeted Roach Honors graduating senior Henry Pitcock, playing the role of Wassenich Family Dean Ron Pitcock. There, Boschini signed the honors roll of graduates, making his name the first signature of the Class of 2025.

As Chancellor Boschini signed the Roll of Graduates, Johnston shared the following sentiment:

What stands out about [Boschini] is that these accomplishments are never about gaining personal prestige. They are always about serving students and making TCU the most student-centered campus in the United States. When he talks to students, he is genuine. Students know his interest in them comes from a place of love and concern. On behalf of the students, faculty, and staff of the John V. Roach Honors College, thank you, Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, for all you have done to impact positively the lives of TCU students, the university, and the John V. Roach Honors College.
