July 7, 2015

Courtney CochranTCU honors biology major Courtney Cochran spent the summer interning at a lab in New Jersey. Here’s how she describes how her honors experience helped prepare her:

“This summer I am interning at the Haskin Shellfish Research Laboratory as a part of Rutgers University’s Research Internships in Ocean Sciences Program. My independent research project is focusing on the ecology of the common whelk in the Mid-Atlantic region and comparing their status to those in fisheries across the globe. My Honors experience within the Biology Department prepared me for this experience through the challenging coursework and high academic standard students are held to.”
