Fulbright Class of 2021

May 17, 2021

With more than 80 Fulbright alumni across students and faculty, TCU has an extensive history with the Fulbright Program. This year, the John V. Roach Honors College is proud to announce that three 2021 graduates – as well as a 2020 graduate – will serve as Fulbright Scholars:

Brooke Boisvert graduated as an Honors Laureate with a degree in neuroscience. She will travel to Austria, where she will research under the guidance of Dr. Tibor Harkany and Dr. Erik Keimpema at the Medical University of Vienna to reveal if delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) disturbs postnatal hippocampal neuron migration, differentiation, and synaptogenesis leading to permanent network modifications. She is the first TCU student to serve as a Fulbright scholar in Austria since 1968.

Katie Kelton graduated as a McDorman Honors Scholar with a degree in English and a minor in Spanish. She will work as an English Teaching Assistant in Spain, where she hopes to broaden her perspective of international academia and truly impact Spanish students in their pursuit of personal and professional success.

Morgan Lindsey graduated as an Honors Laureate with a double degree in biology and child development and a minor in chemistry. She will serve as an English Teaching Assistant in Thailand, where she hopes to be a part of helping to achieve gender equality in education and empowering students.

Emma Brilleslyper graduated in 2020 as an Honors Laureate with double degrees in biology and French, a minor in chemistry and an emphasis in Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies. The global COVID-19 pandemic delayed Brilleslyper’s Fulbright award, and she will serve as an English Teaching Assistant in Belgium.

The Fulbright Program celebrates 75 years in 2021 and is a prestigious opportunity for students, scholars, artists, teachers, and professionals to participate in individually designed study/research projects or English teaching assistant programs around the world. Fulbright’s commitment to granting international educational and cultural exchange programs for passionate and accomplished individuals goes hand-in-hand with TCU’s mission to develop ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community.
