Congratulations to Dr. Lynn Hampton, who was honored at Fall Convocation with TCU’s 2017 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award.
This annual award was created to honor the challenging task of further transforming our community into one that not only celebrates our mission (“To educate individuals to think and act as ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community”) but also creates a world class university building on a heritage of inclusion.
Those who receive TCU’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award are recognized for providing TCU with the critical voices necessary for change and for their sustained actions to transform TCU by making it an even more diverse, equitable and inclusive learning environment and place of employment.
Dr. Hampton received her undergraduate degree in political science and Africana studies from Wellesley College and her doctorate in sociology from Vanderbilt University. She joined the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at TCU in the spring of 2014 and has more than 10 years of experience teaching in higher education. She is currently a Lecturer in the John V. Roach Honors College and serves on the Executive Committee of Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies. Her research focuses on improving educational inequalities in the United States.
Dr. Hampton’s photo will be added to a gallery of recipients on display at the Brown-Lupton University Union.
