Honors academic advising is an important component of the John V. Roach Honors College’s academic program. Through individualized as well as group advisement, Honors Academic Advisors help students make the most of their Honors College experience and assist students in achieving their academic and professional goals.

Honors advising is meant to supplement advising sessions with a student’s major advisor, not to take the place of them. As such, students are expected to see their major/departmental advisor at least once a semester to ensure that they are on track with their major/departmental requirements. Honors advising appointments should, therefore, focus on the following:

  • Fulfilling Honors requirements
  • Selecting Honors courses and discussing options for completing the Honors requirements
  • Getting involved in the Honors College
  • Developing academic and post-graduation goals and plans

All students are assigned to an Honors Academic Advisor based on their last name. Students can meet with an advisor by appointment. The Honors Academic Advisors’ offices are located in 1016 Scharbauer Hall. Please arrive on time, and be prepared for your advising appointment. If you will be late, or if you need to cancel your appointment, please let us know as far in advance as possible. To schedule an appointment, please use the online scheduling link associated with your assigned Honors Academic Advisor:
