Honors student Abbie Maynard, a journalism and Spanish and Hispanic studies double major, will receive the Distinguished Student Award from the TCU Alumni Association at the 2016 TCU Leadership Awards Luncheon in April.

According the award criteria, the Distinguished Student Award is presented to a senior student who has distinguished himself or herself as an undergraduate at TCU both in academics and in service to the University.

Maynard has served as a Frog Camp director, executive editor of TCU 360, the student news website, is in the Chancellor’s Leadership Program, Student Foundation, Jazz Choir, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, Mortar Board, and is the current Ms. TCU.

She has also received numerous scholarships and her journalism work has been recognized with multiple awards.

Maynard graduates in May.
